Damien Rice announces UK arena tour

DAMIEN Rice has announced a nine-date arena tour of the UK in October 2007, including a night at Wembley Arena.

Pre-sale tickets will be on sale via on January 15 and tickets will go on general sale at 9am on January 26.

This will be Rice’s first full UK tour in three years, following on from his four sold-out shows in March 2007.

The dates will provide the public with the opportunity to hear tracks from his latest album 9, including the current single Rootless Tree, released through 14th Floor Records on February 5.

Rice has recently been nominated for a BRIT Award for Best International Male.

The full arena tour dates are as follows (all October):

1 – Newcastle Arena
2 – Birmingham NIA
4 – Glasgow SECC
5 – Nottingham Arena
6 – London Wembley Arena
8 – Plymouth Pavilion
9 – Bournemouth BIC
11 – Manchester MEN
12 – Cardiff Arena

Tickets are priced £23.50, and £25 in London.

POSTED EARLIER: Damien will also be playing a short headline tour of the UK starting at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in March.

The acclaimed artist will play four dates, beginning at the Apollo on March 27 and finishing at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh on March 31.
