Dave Matthews Band to play Brixton Academy (2009)

DAVE Matthews Band have announced a special headline show at the O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday, June 25.

This is a more intimate show for the band who three days later will play to a sold out crowd with Bruce Springsteen at Hard Rock Calling in London’s Hyde Park.

Formed in Virginia in the USA in the early 1990’s, Dave Matthews Band has sold a collective 35 million albums and over 15 million concert tickets.

The band was recently named the top-drawing American band in the world by Billboard magazine.

Renowned for its eclectic sound, the band’s numerous hits include What Would You Say, Crash Into Me, Too Much, Everyday and American Baby.

Stand Up, released in 2005, was Dave Matthews Band’s fourth consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1 in Billboard magazine.

The band will launch an extensive tour in April 2009 to promote its upcoming new album produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Alanis Morissette).

Tickets for the June 25 date at Brixton Academy will be on sale from 9am on Friday, February 27, 2009. All tickets are subject to a booking fee and cost £37.50.
