DAVID Guetta (pictured) and Leftfield have been confirmed as the first headline acts for the inaugural London Electronic Dance Festival (LED).

Taking place in Victoria Park on Bank Holiday Friday and Saturday, August 27 and 28, the event forms part of a collaboration between three giants of live music – Cream, Goldenvoice and Loudsound – to create one of London ‘s most exciting outdoor electronic dance festivals.

Both Guetta and legendary pioneers of electronica Leftfield will be playing exclusive London performances together with an array of special guest appearances from a phenomenally diverse range of dance music’s most exciting acts.

The inaugural festival kicks off on the Friday night with a headline slot from Guetta, which will mark the French house superstar DJ/producers only London show this summer.

On the Saturday, meanwhile, it’s the turn of Leftfield, which will mark the first time fans of the legendary dance group will get a chance to hear the Leftfield sound after nearly a decade away.

Commenting on their appearance, Neil Barnes, of Leftfield, said: “I’m really excited about playing my home town. It’s been too long! The line-up for the LED is fantastic. It’s great to be up there with Aphex, Goldfrapp and Friendly Fires, all artists I admire. Let the bass roar!”
