IN ADVANCE of their forthcoming 11-date UK Arena tour in May, Duran Duran have announced that they will be performing a very special, intimate London show on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.

The performance, which will be recorded for Radio 2’s Jo Whiley ‘In Concert’ series, will celebrate the March 21 extended physical release of their critically acclaimed new album, All You Need Is Now, which hit the No 1 spot on download charts in 15 countries (including the UK) when it was released exclusively via iTunes on December 21, 2010.

Tickets for the London show will go on sale to the general public this Friday, February 25, 2011 at 9am.

Tickets, priced at £45 each, will be limited to four per person.

A ticket pre-sale for members of the Duran Duran VIP fan community will begin at 9am on Tuesday, February 22. VIP experience packages will also be available at this time.

The “up close and personal” London show will be the first time that the band have performed in the UK since 2008 and will mark Duran Duran’s first European performance.

It will also be the first time that fans will get the opportunity to hear the band perform songs from their new album along with timeless classic hits from their tremendous catalogue.

Lead singer Simon Le Bon said: “We are really excited to be performing at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. This will be the first outing for songs from our new album – which we are really enjoying rehearsing at the moment.

“Playing in a smaller venue will be a great beginning to the tour for us. This will kick off a year on the road – and we are all very excited about it.”
