EDWARD Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros return to the UK for the first time in over two years to play two London shows at Islington Assembly Hall on August 15 and 16, 2016.

The London shows come amidst a European tour that also takes in Green Man on August 20, and coincide with the release of a new single, Free Stuff, taken from the band’s superb new album, PersonA, which is due for release on August 12.

The Magnetic Zeros’ much anticipated fourth album, which was recorded by the 10 piece group in New Orleans in late 2015.

Without a need for studio tricks like click tracks, digitally doubling of voices, or any other manipulations, the ten tracks on the record are clearly influenced by the jazz-saturated sound of that city.

Breaking from a more ramshackle, come- one-come-all production approach audible on their previous albums, PersonA marks the first time that the band has jointly collaborated on a majority of the song-writing.

Frontman Alex Ebert explains that the group’s evolution to this point has been natural: “We had long been a social experiment first, musicians second. Over time, though, we were emerging, by virtue of hours spent, into a group of musicians who could really play together.”
