Eels announce 10th anniversary UK tour and albums

EELS have announced they’ll be returning to the UK in February and March next year, beginning with a live date in London.

The band – are set to celebrate their 10-year anniversary with the release of their first “best of” and a rarities collection – will play a total of six dates, concluding in Brighton.

The tour dates are:

25 – London, Royal Festival Hall
26 – Birmingham, Town Hall
27 – Manchester, Bridgewater Hall
28 – Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall

1 – Gateshead, Sage
2 – Brighton, Dome

As for the 10th anniversary albums, Eels – Meet The Eels: Essential Eels VOL. 1, 1996-2006 and Eels Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities and Unreleased 1996-2006 be released on January 21, 2008.

In addition, Parallel Universes, Parallel Lives, the documentary film about Eels leader Mark Oliver Everett and his father, Many Worlds Theory author Hugh Everett III, will make its premiere on BBC 4 on November 26 at 9pm.

Hugh died of a heart attack in his home in 1982 where his body was found by 19-year-old son Mark. The film depicts E on a journey to learn more about his late father and his theory of parallel universes, and features an all-Eels soundtrack.
