Eels frontman to make special London appearance

ON January 17, 2008 the book Things The Grandchildren Should Know is released in the UK.

That evening the author, Eels leader Mark Oliver Everett, will make a special appearance by performing at St James Church in Piccadilly, London.

Each attendee will receive a copy of the book and the first 200 people in line will get wristbands allowing them to have their book signed by the author.

One week later, on January 21, 2008, Eels are set to celebrate their 10-year anniversary with the release of their first ‘best of’ and ‘rarities’ collections – Meet The Eeels: Essential Eels Vol. 1, 1996-2006 and Eels Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities And Unreleased 1996-2006.

Having sold out the first leg of their UK tour (including a night at London’s Royal Festival Hall), Eels have now announced a second string of UK dates this March. The new dates are (all March 2008):

17 & 18 – Dublin, Vicar St
19 – Belfast, Mandela Hall
21 – York, Opera House
22 – Sheffield, City Hall
23 – Oxford, New Theatre
24 – Cambridge, Corn Exchange
