Elbow announce new album and UK Arena tour (2014)

Story by Jack Foley

ELBOW have announced details of a new album and an arena tour for April 2014.

The band will release All At Once (working title), their sixth LP, on March 3, 2014.

It will be followed by an eight-date arena tour in April.

The release will follow 2011’s album Build A Rocket Boys!, which was nominated for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize.

Frontman Guy Garvey recently told the NME that the new album’s working title ties in with its main theme, of the five band members approaching their forties. He also said that it has “some big themes” with a few of the songs emerging “from the point of view of an older man, with quite paternal advice”.

The LP was recorded at Elbow’s own studio, Blueprint in Manchester, and at Peter Gabriel’s studio, Real World near Bath.

Tickets for the dates are on sale now.

The tour dates are (all April 2014):

5 – Birmingham LG Arena
6 – Glasgow The Hydro
8 – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
9 – Manchester Phones 4 U Arena
11 – Leeds First Direct Arena
12 – Liverpool Echo Arena
14 – Nottingham Capital FM Arena
16 – London The O2
