Embrace announce first UK tour in seven years (2014)

Story by Jack Foley

AFTER recently announcing their return with new album Embrace on April 28, 2014, Yorkshire five-piece Embrace have announced their first UK tour in seven years with nine live dates this May.

With three number one albums, six top 10 singles, sold out arena shows, over 2.5 million UK album sales and their last record achieving both No.1 album and No.2 single, Embrace were on the crest of a wave when they suddenly vanished without a trace.

But now they are back with a new tour and new album conveying a more raw and darker sound while still keeping their signature anthems and huge choruses.

Embrace are brothers singer Danny McNamara and guitarist Richard McNamara, bassist Steve Firth, keyboardist Mickey Dale and drummer Mike Heaton and the band recorded the new record in their own studio in Halifax over the last three years.

The first release from the record is the single Refugees, which is released as part of a 4-track EP next week.

Tickets go on sale for the May tour with a pre-sale from this link at 9am on Wednesday (February 12) and on general sale at 9am on Friday, February 14 from this link.
