Emeli Sande announces intimate UK and European shows (2016)

Emeli Sande

Story by Jack Foley

TO celebrate the release of her new single Hurts and forthcoming new album Long Live The Angels, Emeli Sandé has announced her most intimate shows in years.

This October will see Emeli perform across four UK cities starting in Glasgow before taking in her hometown of Aberdeen, moving onto Manchester and then culminating at London’s beautifully iconic St John at Hackney.

Emeli says: “I really wanted to reconnect with my fans on an intimate level, it’s been a really long time, so much has happened and these small shows felt like the perfect way to catch up.”

The tour announcement follows Emeli’s return with epic new single Hurts, which launched on Friday.

The track is the first single to be released from her hugely anticipated second album, Long Live the Angels.

Recorded in New York, L.A, London and Oxford, Long Live The Angels crackles with energy and a sense of euphoria for both listener and artist. Certain tracks may be slower in spirit, but are dynamic in delivery.

“I made sure the production wasn’t overworked,” Emeli points out. “And I really went for it vocally!”
