Enrique Iglesias announces greatest hits tour (2009)

Enrique Iglesias, Greatest Hits

Story by Jack Foley

ENRIQUE Iglesias has announced his Greatest Hits UK Tour with very special guest Alesha Dixon.

The Madrid-born, Miami-raised heart-throb will play a total of four dates in May, culminating with a night at London’s O2 Arena.

The prolific artist has sold 40 million albums in little over a decade, becoming one of the most successful artists in the history of popular music. Born in 1975, Enrique led the life of a typical teen while growing up in Miami.

He started writing and recording songs without telling his parents about it. In fact, he shopped his first demo posing as a Central American unknown named Enrique Martínez. Only after landing a record contract with regional Mexican label Fonovisa, did Enrique decide to use his real name.

Joining him will be Alesha Dixon, who is currently riding high in the charts with a Top 3 single Breathe Slow and album The Alesha Show.

The tour dates are (all May 2009):

7 – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
8 – Manchester MEN Arena
9 – Cardiff International Arena
15 – London, The O2 Arena

Tickets go on sale at 9.30am on Friday, February 20. Read our review of Enrique’s Greatest Hits
