Ether 2011: Full line-up announced

Ether 2011

Compiled by Jack Foley

AS ETHER looks to celebrate its 10th birthday in 2011, this year’s line-up looks to emulate some of the successes that have been enjoyed throughout the first decade of the Southbank Centre’s popular annual event.

Hence, among Ether 2011’s highlights are performances from post-punk pioneers Killing Joke through to Tim Exile, Pantha du Prince, Wolfgang Voigt and Micachu & the Shapes.

Stanley Kubrick’s seminal 1968 masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey will also be featured with a live score from The Philharmonia Orchestra.

And there will be a focus on the avant-garde icon Iannis Xenakis.

Ether 2011 takes place from March 24 until April 28, 2011, and tickets (which are already on sale to Southbank Centre members) go on general sale on Tuesday, February 8.
