Fatboy Slim to headline first South West Four Weekender

FATBOY Slim and Armin van Buuren have been announced as the headline acts for the first ever South West Four Weekender in August 2010.

Having brought alive London’s favourite field, Clapham Common, for six consecutive years, festival organisers have expanded the event to two days, promising more of the world’s biggest DJs, electronic live acts and leading dance labels in the various SW4 arenas.

This year’s event falls on the Bank Holiday Weekend of Saturday and Sunday, August 28 and 29, and promises to kick off the new two-day format in style.

Says SW4 director Danny Newman: “Following six sensational sell-out years and phenomenal demand from the SW4-loving public, it was only natural that South West Four would evolve into a two day spectacular. This is the dawn of a new era for SW4 and with everyone off work on Monday we hope you can join us and see out the summer in style!”

First up, on the Saturday, is Armin van Buuren, who has chosen South West Four for his only London gig of 2010.

Armin follows in the footsteps of Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox, Sasha and John Digweed by headlining South West Four for the very first time.

He will be followed, on the Sunday, by Fatboy Slim for his only London appearance of 2010.

Commenting on the festival, Norman Cook said: “I’ve only played indoors in London since our last party in Hyde Park. It will be good to feel the grass under our feet and the wind in our hair. Clapham Common here we come…”

Weekend early bird tickets have been on sale since February 16, priced just £72.50 plus booking fee with Saturday and Sunday early bird tickets only £37.50 plus booking fee.

Further additions to the line-up will be announced in the coming weeks
