Five Star announce Greatest Hits UK headline tour (2018)

Story by Jack Foley

IN celebration of the release of their new album, The Definitive Anthology 1984-1991, British pop group Five Star have announced a very special London show at Islington Assembly Hall on Thursday, June 14, 2018.

The group, featuring Brit award winner, Grammy nominee and original lead vocalist Denise Pearson with four new members, will be performing all of their greatest hits, including classic tracks System Addict, Can’t Wait Another Minute, Find The Time and The Slightest Touch.

The Pearson siblings, dubbed the British Black Royal family of pop and Britain’s answer to the Jackson Five by Britain’s national newspapers, burst onto the scene in 1983 and were managed by their Father, Buster Pearson.

After performing a sizzling rendition of a song named Problematic for the BBC’s Pebble Mill at one Show the group signed with a major Record label TENT/RCA and released their 1985 debut album Luxury Of Life and the rest is, as they say, history.

Five Star were the youngest British group to have a number 1 album and the first group to achieve seven consecutive hit singles from one album in the UK.

They also broke Michael Jackson’s record of becoming the youngest group ever to top the British charts and the first Black group to top the U.K charts in 1987.

This iconic pop group will be coming together for one special night of music. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday, May 4.
