Florence & The Machine announce December tour

WITH the biggest selling UK debut album of the year to date under her belt, Florence and the Machine has announced a series of live shows to round off what has been a truly exceptional 2009.

The December tour includes some of her biggest dates yet, and includes a massive show at Brixton Academy on December 13.

Florence will headline the venue less than a year since opening there for the NME Tour at the head of the year.

Pre-sale for the December tour opens at 9am on Tuesday, September 8 via and tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday, September 11.

The tour dates are (all December 2009):

6 – Belfast Ulster Hall
7 – Dublin Olympia Theatre
9 – Glasgow 02 Academy
10 – Manchester Apollo
11 – Lincoln Engine Shed
13 – London Brixton Academy

Florence and The Machine’s next single, Drumming Song, is released on Sunday, September 13.

In addition, Florence will be playing live at tonight’s Mercury Music Award ceremony where her album Lungs has been nominated.

Her performance at Bestival this coming weekend marks the end of the festival season before she takes Lungs on the road for the first time at the end of September.

This tour culminates in three sold out Shepherd’s Bush Empire dates in London on September 27, 28 and 29.
