Story by Jack Foley

FOO Fighters have added an extra Wembley Stadium tour date for June next year – on Friday, June 6, a day before their previously-announced gig.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED Having been one of the highlights of Live Earth UK, drawn a crowd of 85,000 to Hyde Park last year, headlined multiple Earls Courts and Reading Festivals, and most recently wrapped up a sold out UK tour with two nights at The O2 Arena, Foo Fighters have announced their most ambitious UK gig to date:

Dave Grohl and co will play London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday, June 7, 2008 – in what promises to be their biggest UK headline show yet.

2007 has proved to be yet another banner year for Foo Fighters in the UK: the band’s sixth studio album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace entered the UK chart at No.1 with the biggest first week sales by an international artist in 2007 and the biggest first week sales ever on iTunes UK.

The already platinum-plus record’s second single, Long Road To Ruin, will be released on December 3.

Tickets for the Wembley Stadium show will go on sale on Friday, November 23 at 10 am and will be available online at all the usual online outlets or by calling the 24 hour credit card hotline at 0871 2200 260 or 0871 230 6230.
