Garth Brooks

Story by Jack Foley

GARTH Brooks has announced plans for a world tour in 2014.

The dates will mark the first time the US country singer has toured in more than 10 years. But as yet he has not confirmed where the tour will take him.

Brooks, 51, retired from recording new music and touring in 2001 so that he could see his three daughters grow up.

But announcing his comeback on ABC’s Good Morning America, he said: “My children are off on their own, so the guilt of not being there … I’m a phone-call dad now.”

Brooks has sold more than 125 million albums and, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA,) he is the second best-selling solo albums artist of all time in the US behind Elvis Presley.

Brooks confirmed that the tour will take place in 2014 but there was no detail on where it would take him or which part of the year it would commence.
