Gaz Coombes and Edwyn Collins lead Roundhouse In The Round gigs (2016)

EDWYN Collins, Gaz Coombes, Matthew E White, Camille O’Sullivan, Mulatu Astatke, Marianne Faithfull, John Cale, Keaton Henson, Scritti Politti and Rokia Traoré are to play In The Round – a new intimate concert series at London’s iconic Roundhouse

The Camden venue has chosen to kick off its 2016 Music Programme with this new series of intimate performances staged in the round – utilising its legendary Main Space in a rarely seen fully seated concert set-up.

With a limited number of tickets available, In the Round will be a unique opportunity to see some of the world’s leading artists perform up close within the venue’s iconic architecture.

The series opens with a rare solo show from the Mercury Prize nominated singer-songwriter Gaz Coombes on January 28.

Scottish musician, producer and record label owner Edwyn Collins plays his first London headline show since June 2014 on January 29, while Spacebomb record label and studio founder Matthew E White takes to the stage on January 30 to perform songs from his acclaimed albums, Big Inner, Outer Face and Fresh Blood.

Irish, musician, singer and actress Camille O’Sullivan is a performer who makes every song her own. She will take to the stage on January 31.

While cult figure Mulatu Astatke takes to the venue on February 1, showcasing music that offers a compelling fusion of traditional Ethiopian styles with jazz.

Iconic singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull appears on February 2 and will be followed by The Velvet Underground founding member, John Cale, on February 3.

In a rare performance, London poet and singer, Keaton Henson will perform material from his albums Dear, Birthdays and Romantic Works on February 4.

Scritti Politti play their first headline London show in almost three years on February 5 and multi-award winning Malian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rokia Traoré will be airing material from her sixth album, Né So, on February 6.
