Glen Campbell announces farewell UK tour

GLEN Campbell is to say goodbye to his UK fans with his last ever concerts.

Glen Campbell: The Goodbye Tour sees Glen – supported by his two daughters and his son’s band – performing many of his greatest hits, including Gentle on My Mind, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Wichita Lineman, Galveston, Rhinestone Cowboy and Southern Nights.

The tour opens on Friday, October 21 at the Lowry in Salford and plays 15 cities, including London’s Royal Festival Hall on Saturday, October 22, 2011.

The tour coincides with the release of Glen’s final studio album, Ghost on the Canvas, which is released in the UK on Monday, August 29 by Surfdog Records.

In over 50 years in the business, Glen Campbell has sold 45 million albums, had 81 songs on the charts, won Grammys and numerous other awards, been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, had a TV show where 50 million people tuned in weekly, played with Sinatra, Elvis, the Beach Boys, owned a theatre in Branson, acted and did a song for the movie True Grit alongside John Wayne, and did it all rising from being the seventh son of a poor Arkansas sharecropper who eventually moved to LA with just $300 in his pocket.
