Gloria Gaynor to play Shaw Theatre on anniversary tour

Gloria Gaynor

Story by Jack Foley

GLORIA Gaynor has announced three nights at London’s Shaw Theatre as part of her 30th anniversary tour, I Will Survive.

The trio of gigs take place between Wednesday, May 21 and Friday, May 23, 2008.

Gaynor first hit the international pop charts in the late ’70s with the ground breaking disco smash I Will Survive, which provided the singer with her first Grammy.

Thirty years on, I Will Survive remains one of the best loved and instantly recognisable tracks from the Disco era.

Celebrating this annniversary, the multi award-winning performer returns to the UK for the first time in 20 years to perform all the hits from her glittering career.

What’s more, Gloria will be joined by the world famous The Drifters, best known for such timeless classics as Saturday Night at the Movies, You’re More Than A Number In My Little Red Book, Under the Boardwalk, Come On Over To My Place and Kissin’ In The Back Row Of The Movies.

The Drifters are one of the world’s longest-serving pop groups with a career spanning 50 years.
