Gomez announce new tour and album

Story by Jack Foley

GOMEZ will be celebrating their tenth anniversary this October with the release of their eagerly-anticipated new album How We Operate on May 29 and a UK tour.

The release of the album will be preceded by the single GirlShapedLoveDrug on May 22.

While the tour kicks off in Bristol on June 5, before ending at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on June 12. After that, Gomez will also be apparing at the T in the Park and Oxegen festivals.

For How We Operate, their fifth studio album, Gomez decided to mix things up a little. Or, as they put it…

“As a creative partnership, and as friends, we had to regroup and make a career-defining record,” says Tom Gray (vocals, guitar, keyboards).

While cohort Ben Ottewell (vocals, guitar) adds. “The last album was pretty rocking, and reflected the live show a lot. With this one, we wanted to focus on songs, melodies and words, rather than volume.”

“The album retains and revitalizes that glory – and presents it in a more immediately gripping form. This is certainly the most cohesive record we’ve made,” concludes Ian Ball.

The tour dates are as follows (all June)...
