Gregg Allman announces UK tour dates (2011)

Gregg Allman

Story by Jack Foley

ROCK ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame legend Gregg Allman is to tour the UK in July 2011.

The announcement follows the UK release of Low Country Blues, which debuted at No.5 on the Billboard Top 200 last week. This is the highest chart position of his career.

Low Country Blues is Allman’s first solo record in 14 years and was produced by T Bone Burnett at his Village Recorder studio in Los Angeles.

The album features Dr. John on piano, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, and Burnett’s brilliant rhythm section: bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose. Read our review

The UK tour dates are (all July 2011):

1 – London Barbican
2 – Birmingham Symphony Hall
6 – Edinburgh Usher Hall

Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10am.
