Groove Armada announce UK tour (2007)

Groove Armada

Story by Jack Foley

ONE of the UK’s most popular live acts, Groove Armada are coming home.

After taking their live show around the world several times, Groove Armada are set to tour the UK for the first time since 2004, including two nights at London’s Roundhouse in May.

The Soundboy Rock tour is going nationwide in support of their new studio album, culminating in a special Lovebox event in Birmingham on May 27.

It kicks off a huge summer of festival appearances for Groove Armada, with headline shows at Rockness, and, of course, their own Lovebox event in London this summer.

Soundboy Rock is a major return for the much-loved Groove Armada boys. Described as a whole festival crammed onto one CD, Soundboy Rock already shaping up to be one of this summer’s big albums.

Recorded between London (Tom) and Barcelona (Andy), the album is being billed as “a wonderfully uplifting” release and “a celebration of dance music’s vibrant versatility”.

It features a roll-call of superlative talents and is being tipped as Groove Armada’s most diverse record to date, including contributions from Mutya (ex-Sugababes), Candi Staton, Alan Donohoe (The Rakes), Simon Lord (Simian), Richard Archer (Hard-Fi), Jeb Loy Nichol, Jack Splash (Plant Life), Jack McManus, Tony Allen, Rhymefest, Stush, Angie Stone, and Mad.
