Gym Class Heroes announce autumn tour (2008)

Gym Class Heroes

Story by Jack Foley

GYM Class Heroes are to play a series of headline gigs in the UK this September, including a night at London’s Astoria 2.

The six-date jaunt starts in Glasgow on September 13 and finishes in Portsmouth on the 22nd, and will enable the award winning, alternative hip-hop outfit to showcase tracks from their eagerly anticipated third album, The Quilt, due for release on September 8.

The Quilt is the first music from the band since 2006’s RIAA gold-certified breakthrough, As Cruel As School Children and features some extraordinary collaborators, including producers Cool & Dre (Yung Joc, Young Jeezy, The Game) and the Geneva, NY-based band’s long time friend and collaborator, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. Busta Rhymes, Estelle and the legendary Daryl Hall also make an appearance on the set.

The album’s first single, Cookie Jar comes out digitally on August 25 and physically on September 8. Produced by The-Dream who has also worked with Rihanna, Usher and Chris Brown, the companion video is directed by Dale “Rage” Resteghini.

Gym Class Heroes will spend the summer busting out the new material as headliners on Vans Warped Tour in the United States.

The UK dates (all September 2008) are:
16 – Manchester Academy 2
18 – London Astoria 2
19 – Birmingham Academy 2
21 – Bristol Academy 2

Tickets £13 (except London, £14.50) and are on sale now.
