HAMPTON Court Palace Festival is celebrating its 18th birthday with a series of concerts that boast some of the greatest names in popular music.

Tickets go on pre-sale at 9am on March 11, 2010 and will be available from the Hampton Court website or by calling 0844 811 0050 (booking fee applies).

Tickets then go on general sale at 9am on March 22 from the website, by calling 0844 811 0050 or 0844 847 1638 or in person from the box office (between 10am and 3pm from March 22 onwards).

The concert dates for the 2010 Festival are as follows:

Tuesday, June 8 – Jackson Browne
Friday, June 11 – Jools Holland with Alison Moyet
Saturday, June 12 – Nicola Benedetti and the RPO
Tuesday and Wednesday, June 15 & 16 – Simply Red
Thursday, June 17 – Michael Bolton
Friday, June 18 – Katherine Jenkins
Saturday, June 19 – Michael Ball

Commenting on his appearance at the festival, Jools Holland said: “This is also a great and important first for the band. To have Alison Moyet with my big band is something I’m looking forward to more than anything.

“It’s a magical venue in that courtyard because we are enclosed with the audience in a late-Medieval world. If there are any ghosts there they have no chance at all.”

Stephen Flint Wood, Managing Director, IMG Arts & Entertainment, the Festival organiser, added: “We are delighted to celebrate the Festival’s 18th birthday with such a fantastic line-up of artists.

“We are very proud of the unique concert experience we can give to the fans and the artists performing. All of these artists sell-out huge arenas and our festival gives fans a rare chance to enjoy these musical stars in such a remarkable and intimate concert space.”
