Globally, the band has sold 120 million albums and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans.

Confirming the news, Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International, said: “2011 marks Hard Rock’s 40th anniversary and there is no better way to celebrate than with Bon Jovi at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park. Not only has Bon Jovi been one of the world’s most successful and beloved bands, but they have also been a friend of the Hard Rock brand for many years.”

Tickets for Hard Rock Calling on June 25, 2011 go on sale at 9am on Monday, November 1, 2010. They cost £59 plus booking fee.

In addition, the band will play Edinburgh Murrayfield on June 22, 2011, and Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on June 24 (with tickets for those dates also becoming available on November 1).

In what is proving to be another busy chapter in Bon Jovi’s history, the band will pick up the ‘Global Icon’ Award at MTV’s European Music Awards in Madrid on November 7.

They will also perform live and exclusively on UK Television with an appearance on X Factor this coming Sunday ITV at 6pm.

Universal Music will simultaneously release a Greatest Hits Album.

Bon Jovi – Greatest Hits will transport their fans back in time through the band’s worldwide monster hits, and offer a bridge to the future with the debut of four brand new tracks, What Do You Got?, The More Things Change, No Apologies and This Is Love, This Is Life.

These new songs were written and recorded specifically for inclusion on the album.

The compilation is chock full of Bon Jovi’s biggest chart-toppers, including Livin’ On A Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive, Who Says You Can’t Go Home and more.
