Howard Jones announces 30th anniversary UK concerts
Story by Jack Foley
THIRTY years ago Howard Jones released his debut single New Song, which urged listeners to challenge their preconceived ideas and throw off their mental chains.
To celebrate the anniversary Jones has confirmed two exclusive 30th anniversary UK concerts at London Shepherd’s Bush Empire on November 29, 2013 and Birmingham O2 Academy on November 30.
Fans can order tickets from Wednesday, March 20 via a special 48-hour pre-sale by signing up to Howard Jones’s mailing list to obtain a pre-sale code here.
Tickets go on sale to the general public from Friday, March 22.
Both concerts will be divided into three parts. The first will include an unplugged acoustic set including some rarely performed album tracks and B-sides, while the second part will see Howard performing a new composition for the very first time that will incorporate multi-media, new technology and audience participation.
The final set will be electric, celebrating his best known songs and highlights from his career, including What Is Love, Hide And Seek, Like To Get To Know You Well, Pearl In The Shell and Things Can Only Get Better.
Every ticket holder will receive a free limited edition Howard Jones 30th Anniversary CD comprising a personal selection of Howard’s favourite recordings over the past 30 years.
