AFTER gaining their third UK no. 1 with new album The Promise, Il Divo have added a further two UK dates to their forthcoming world tour.

The world’s most successful operatic quartet (over 22 million albums sold) will play second dates in London and Manchester:

The new dates are (both February 2009):

22 – Manchester, MEN Arena
28 – London, O2 Arena

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, December 12.

1 – Cardiff, International Arena
4 – Nottingham, Trent FM Arena Nottingham
5 – Sheffield, Sheffield Arena
9 – Belfast, Odyssey Arena

12 – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
13 – Glasgow, SECC

Staged and choreographed by William Baker (Kylie, Jamiroquai), the tour visits 28 European cities (including 11 UK arena dates) before heading to North America, South America, Australia and Asia later in the year.

The group recently renewed their partnership with Giorgio Armani, who will design the wardrobe for the tour.

The Promise, meanwhile, has now topped the chart in an incredible nine countries (including Spain, Holland and Portugal), shipping over 2 million copies worldwide.

The album is currently top 10 in 20 countries including the UK, where The Promise has shot back up to no. 5 after last weekend’s X Factor performance.
