Jack Johnson

Story by Jack Foley

JACK Johnson is to play London’s Hyde Park in the summer of 2008 to support the release of his new album, Sleep Through The Static.

The former surfer turned singing sensation will be joined by G. Love & Special Sauce, Mason Jennings and special guests to be announced for the gig on July 2, 2008.

Johnson has released three solo records (Brushfire Fairytales, On & On and In Between Dreams) and contributed to a number of soundtracks over the past few years, which have sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

Sleep Through The Static was produced by JP Plunier, who worked on Jack’s first album Brushfire Fairytales, and will be released early in 2008.

Jack’s band consists of long time members Adam Topol (drums), Merlo Podlewski (bass) and Zach Gill (keys), who joined the band during the tour to support In Between Dreams.

The new album was recorded 100% on Solar Energy.

A second Hyde Park date is expected to be announced soon and there are also plans for further UK dates in Dublin, Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham.
