JAMES have announced a new tour of the UK in 2008 to coincide with the release of their new studio album, which is reportedly “sounding great”.

The album is due to be released on April 7 and the 11-date tour, which includes a stop at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, kicks off on April 10.

A comment on James official website reads: “Just to let you all know that after a fantastic tour last spring and a great summer doing all the festivals at home and abroad, the new album is coming along very nicely indeed.

“The studio we built with Lee in the French chateau worked a treat and the tracks are sounding great. The album is scheduled for release on April 7, 2008 and there’s a nice little theatre tour planned where you will be able to hear all the new stuff.”

The tour dates are (all April 2008):

10 – Derby, Assembly Rooms
11 – Lincoln, Engine Shed
12 – Liverpool, University
14 – Newcastle, Academy
15 – Sheffield, Academy
17 – London, Shepherds Bush Empire
