Joan As Police Woman

Story by Jack Foley

JOAN As Police Woman has announced details of her new album as well as a full UK tour in 2011.

The Deep Field is the new LP, out on January 24, 2011, while Magic will be the first single, out on January 17.

The 11-date tour, meanwhile, takes place in February and includes a night at The Barbican in London.

Commenting on the single, Joan Wasser said: “The Magic is about how crazy your head can get when you begin worrying about the future, about the past, about not getting what you want or not getting enough of it.. and once that worry starts it can turn into some serious psychic bad trip!”

The new Joan As Police Woman album, The Deep Field begins with the words “I want you to fall in love with me,” and continues to unfurl an unashamed lust for life.

In Joan’s own words, it’s “my most open, joyous record”, which promises to take listeners on a rocking, soulful journey.
