Kajagoogoo reunite for UK tour

Story by Lizzie Guilfoyle

KAJAGOOGOO, the 1980s pop group, are to reform and embark on a UK tour, the first with the original five-piece line-up in more than 25 years.

The band is fronted by Limahl (an anagram of singer Christopher Hamill’s surname), with Nick Beggs on bass guitar, Steve Askew on lead guitar, Stuart Croxford Neale on keyboards, and Jez Strode on drums.

Their biggest hit was Too Shy but other singles included Ooh to Be Ah, Hang on Now, Big Apple, The Lion’s Mouth and Turn Your Back On Me.

A number of factors contributed to the band’s eventual split, not least of all declining record sales and artistic differences. Now it seems they’ve put the past behind them as they prepare for the tour which begins in September.
