KASABIAN will be playing London’s O2 Arena for a massive New Year’s Eve gig that will help see in 2012.

Not content with flexing their muscles in some of the country’s best arenas for a monster 13-date headline tour throughout December (including two nights at the O2), Kasabian will also be joined by Chase & Status Live and Zane Lowe for a night of “high-octane entertainment and show-stopping celebrations” on December 31.

Announcing the show earlier this week, Kasabian said: “It’s been a hell of a year for us and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate NYE than with our fans, friends and family by our side. We promise to set The O2 on fire! Bring on 2012!”

Chase & Status added: “We’re really looking forward to playing the world famous The O2 on New Year’s Eve with Kasabian and Zane Lowe. It’s the icing on the cake for what has been a great year for us.”

Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday, November 11.

In other related Kasabian tour news, the band have revealed that the stage set for their forthcoming arena tour will resemble a giant orange.

Kicking off on November 28 in Brighton, the band will perform 13 gigs in the run up to XChristmas during which they’ll showcase tracks from their new album, Velociraptor!

And speaking to NME, they’ve revealed that they have commissioned a specially designed set which will glow brighter or fainter depending on how noisy the crowd are.
