Keane's second album leaked early

Keane

Story by Jack Foley

KEANE’S new album Under The Iron Sea has been leaked two weeks early, placing doubts on whether it will be able to top the album charts.

The keenly-anticipated follow-up to Hopes And Fears is released on Monday, June 12 and was hotly tipped to top the UK chart. Lead single, Is It Any Wonder? has already gone top three.

But its chances of success have been blighted by news that iTunes Belgium had released the album for download two weeks early – enabling fans to flock to the site to get an early copy.

A similar situation was encountered by Oasis last year, when their latest album, Don’t Believe The Truth, appeared on iTunes in Germany ahead of its release.

However, that album did still managed to top the UK chart and the quality of songs on Under The Iron Sea should ensure the album becomes one of the year’s biggest sellers and another massive success for Keane.

No one from Keane has so far commented on the story, although a spokesman for the band did confirm that they were aware of the leak.
