Korn announce only UK show of 2014
Story by Jack Foley
KORN have announced their only UK show for 2014 and will be coming to London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Friday, May 2 as part of The Paradigm Shift Tour.
This will be Korn’s first headline UK show in two years and also marks the return of Brian Head Welch to the line-up – the original Korn De-tuned Dual Guitar Attack is back!
The members of Korn built an immortal bond back in 1993 the first time that Jonathan Davis, James “Munky” Shaffer, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, and Brian “Head” Welch decided to make music as a unit.
After six releases, two Grammy Award wins, countless sold out shows and eventually selling 35 million albums worldwide, Head left the group in 2004 to face down the demons of addiction on his own. Korn soldiered on, permanently adding drummer Ray Luzier to the fold in 2007 and releasing four more full-length releases, most recently 2011’s dubstep-metal hybrid The Path of Totality.
In 2012, a triumphant and tear-filled reunion happened on stage as the group headlined the Carolina Rebellion festival with Head reprising his legendary part on Blind.
The initial bond came back into focus, but it was time to change the game again. It was time for their eleventh studio album, The Paradigm Shift (out now).
Korn’s only UK show precedes further dates to their European tour in May 2014.
The dates are (all May 2014):
2 – London Brixton Academy
4 – Eindhoven, Holland Klokgebouw
5 – Paris, France Zenith
6 – Cologne, Germany Palladium
8 – Copenhagen, Denmark Amager Bio
