Kraftwerk to play Tate Modern's Turbine Hall (2013)

Story by Jack Foley

ELECTRO pioneers Kraftwerk are to play a number of live dates at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall in London in 2013.

Kraftwerk: The Catalogue will see the group play eight of their studio albums in full – one every night, in order of release.

Beginning with their fourth album, 1974’s Autobahn, the German quartet will also perform Radio-Activity (1975), Trans Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1986), The Mix (1991) and Tour de France (2003) as well as additional compositions from their back catalogue.

The London show’s follow the success of their New York ones, where they first performed the retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art earlier this year.

The shows will be the group’s first in London since 2004.

Tickets for the shows, which run from February 6-14, 2013, will cost £60 and they go on sale via the Tate’s website on December 12 at 07.30am.

The Tate described the shows as a “chronological exploration of the group’s sonic and visual experiments”. It also promises “spectacular 3D effects”.
