Story by Jack Foley

ACTOR and country star Kris Kristofferson has announced an intimate solo acoustic tour of the UK next year (2008).

The five dates will mark the singer’s first UK tour in four years and includes a night at London’s Royal Albert Hall next April.

Kristofferson is widely regarded as an artist’s artist and has recorded 26 albums and won three Grammy Awards. Some of his most popular work has included collaborations with Willie Nelson, the late Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings as part of The Highwaymen.

Indeed, his success as a songwriter paved the way for him to enter Hollywood, where Kristofferson also found fame as an actor in some classic movies.

In 1977, he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in A Star Is Born, alongside Barbra Streisand, and went on to star in the films Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Convoy and Sam Peckinpah’s seminal western, Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid.

The tour dates are as follows:

March 2008
28 – Manchester Apollo
30 – Sheffield City Hall
31 – Brighton Dome

1 – Bristol Colston Hall
2 – London Royal Albert Hall

  1. Kris Kristofferson is a country music legend. I’ve been waiting for years to see this guy perform solo. Next to Cash and Dylan, Kristofferson is the man. More details of the tour can be found on this UK site –
