Kylie Minogue sings for Aids cause

Kylie Minogue

Story by Jack Foley

AUSTRALIAN singer Kylie Minogue raised £200,000 for each of the two songs she performed at a charity event in France, held to coincide with this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The annual bash is organised by the American Federation for Aids Research (Amfar) and was hosted by actress Sharon Stone in the company of guests including Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn and Mischa Barton.

Kylie, 38, sang lively versions of two of her biggest hits, The Locomotion and Can’t Get You Out of My Head and clearly had a lot of fun.

Model Dita Von Teese also performed one of her trademark Burlesque routines at the event, which was held in the town of Moujins on France’s glamorous Cote d’Azur.

And an auction of luxury items included designer luggage, crystal jewelled shoes and a one-on-one tennis lesson from Monica Selles.
