LADY Gaga has confirmed that her new album, Born This Way, will be released in the early part of 2011, with a new single preceding it in February.

Speaking to BBC’s Newsbeat backstage on the final night of the UK leg of her Monster Ball tour, the singer also pledged that the sophomore LP will mark her “most innovative” work to date.

It will provide listeners with “a marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock ‘n’ roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats”.

Lady Gaga said that the album has now been completed and is in the final stages of fine tuning – or, in her own inimitable style, is in the “post-operative” stage.

Elaborating further about the content of the material, she also revealed how big a part her fans had played in helping to make the lyrics more “poetic”.

Crediting them with writing some of the songs, she praised her followers for “funnelling so much into me” every night.

“I wrote it for them,” she added. “Born This Way is all about my little monsters and me, mother monster.”

There was some sad news for fans, though, as Lady Gaga confirmed that she is not expecting to tour with a new production in the UK again until 2012… even though she intends to return to the UK to premiere new material on TV.
