Laura Marling adds five solo dates to Spring UK tour (2017)

Story by Jack Foley

LAURA Marling has announced a short UK solo run of live dates for the Spring.

In addition to the previously announced full-band tour in March, Laura will now follow it with an additional five dates by herself, journeying on roads slightly less travelled.

Tour De Ville UK sees new shows in Bury St Edmunds, Stockton, Wrexham, Exeter, and Norwich, which go on general sale from 10am on Friday, January 27 via Laura’s official website.

Marling releases her sixth album, Semper Femina, on March 10 through her own More Alarming Records/Kobalt Music Recordings. The record, produced by US musician/producer Blake Mills, has been trailed by two tantalising new tracks, Soothing and Wild Fire.

Semper Femina follows a loose, lyrical thread of feminine exploration. It drops a light on an unspecified ‘muse’ of Laura’s, and sweeps in and out of focus on how the acclaimed musician views femininity as the years pass.

It’s not a concept record per se, but that aforementioned thread unravels and reaffirms itself throughout the record’s duration.

The new tour dates are (all March 2017)
