AWARD-winning rapper Lil’ Wayne has announced a rare UK live show in London on July 6, 2009, at The HMV Hammersmith Apollo.

This will be only the fourth time in his career he has played the in UK and the show promises to be one of the hottest tickets in town.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 3 at 9am and are priced at £32.50, excluding booking fee. The show will feature rising hip-hop star Kid Cudi who was featured in the BBC’s influential Sound Poll as ‘one to watch’ in 2009.

Following his spectacular success last year as far and away the biggest artist in America, Lil Wayne looks set to make 2009 his own, with his feverishly anticipated new Cash Money/Universal album Rebirth, which will be released on June 8, 2009.

Wayne’s staggering success in 2008, both commercially and critically, was recognised at the 2009 Grammy’s where he won four Awards (Best Rap Song, Album, Performance and Performance by a Duo or Group).

He had led the field with eight nominations ahead of Coldplay with seven, and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West who each earned six nods. Wayne gave one of his show stealing performances at the event; teaming up with T.I, Jay-Z, M.I.A and Kanye West for Swagger Like This and Robin Thicke for Tie My Hands, taken from Wayne’s multi-award winning album Tha Carter III.

In total, Lil Wayne has now released seven records, sold over 10 million albums, and has made an incredible 40 guest features since 1999.
