Linda Lewis to play London's Jazz Cafe (2008)

Linda Lewis

Story by Jack Foley

ORIGINAL UK soul diva Linda Lewis is to make a special London appearance at the Jazz Cafe on October 24 and 25, 2008.

Twenty five years after the release of Fathoms Deep, the ground breaking record that made her a major Soul contender, Lewis returns for a couple of very special shows at the prestigious London venue.

The woman who helped blaze the trail for the current crop of female soul singers (everyone from Terri Walker, India Aria to Des’ree owes a debt of lineage) is never disappointing live.

Still in possession of one of the most dynamic vocal styles in the business her 5 octave range is dynamite when she’s only 20 foot away.

After 2007’s Soul Britannia outing at the Barbican and subsequent Sould Britannia All Stars touring this is a great opportunity to see her go through her own back catalogue in an intimate setting.

Tickets cost £15 and are available now.
