Lovebox Weekender 2006 - Jamiroquai to headline

JAMIROQUAI will make his only UK festival performance of 2006 at Lovebox in London’s Victoria Park on Sunday, July 23.

The funky performer will join a line-up that includes Groove Armada, The Bees, Jamie Lidell and Cut Copy at the two-day event.

Lovebox was set-up by Groove Armada to host their own parties and has since become one of London’s most credible music festivals! It is now in its fourth year.

Groove Armada will headline on the Saturday night (July 22) with a show bulging with new material. The Lovebox Weekender will be also be the first opportunity to see their new live show.

Alongside the headliners will be 10 Arenas, cabaret performances, circus acts, cocktails, gourmet food and a traditional fun fair.

Other live acts confirmed so far include: The Feeling, New Young Pony Club, Secret Stealth, Bugz In The Attic, Shlomo, Ben Westbeech, Electric Souls Sound System and Heritage Players vs Grime Allstars. Further acts have still to be confirmed.

Hosting arenas over the weekend include: Mr Scruff’s Keep It Unreal Arena, Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Arena, Bloc Party Arena, Secretsundaze, Faith, Strongbow Rooms, Lost Vagueness, Medium Rare Variety Club, Hackney Empire Spice Arena, and the Tower Hamlets Tent.

Commenting on this year’s event, Andy Cato, of Groove Armada, said: “The Lovebox parties that started in 1999 have grown into London’s leading music festival and this year’s line up is the best yet. We’ve put together a weekend’s worth of the freshest music in the centre of town, wrapped in a traveling circus of surprises.”
