Lovebox Weekender 2007: Line-up revealed

LONDON’S boutique festival Lovebox returns in July 2007 for its annual Lovebox Weekender show in Victoria Park.

This year’s event promises another massive celebration of music and culture featuring a live performance from Groove Armada, celebrating their new album, plus an exclusive gig from The B-52’s who have not played on UK soil for over a decade.

Now in its fifth year, London’s independent summer extravaganza is still hosted by organisers Groove Armada, reflecting their eclectic tastes and passion for cutting-edge music and vibrant cultural life. Their band will close an amazing weekend by wowing the main stage on Sunday night.

Over two days – from July 21 to 22 – there will be numerous stages and tents in 20 acres of mature London parkland.

The main stage
An awesome eclectic line-up of star performers from the latest disco-punk sounds of The Rapture to African-blues media sensations Tinariwen to a UK festival exclusive appearance from cult US band the B-52’s to Nouvelle Vague and their knowing cover versions of post-punk classics.

Clubbers paradise
State of the art club tent with cutting–edge dance music hosted by Issst on Saturday and The End on Sunday. Issst are East London’s leading underground party promoters and The End have been flying the flag for underground dance music in central London for over 11 years. Highlights include the very ‘now’ sound of Tiga and Digitalism and an exclusive ‘space terrace’ DJ set by Groove Armada themselves who open the tent on Saturday.

World music / folk / rock & roll stage
Musical insights and surprises from around the globe including a performance from reggae legends Toots & the Maytals and heart-stopping folk songs from James Yorkston and others.

Dedicated indie stage
