Madness announce UK arena tour

Story by Jack Foley

FOLLOWING on from a series of highly charged festival shows this summer, including a triumphant secret Glastonbury appearance at Lost Vagueness, the 2 Tone legends Madness are set to go on the road once again, unleashing their nutty boys knees-up, with seven nationwide-wide arena shows.

Kicking off in Aberdeen on December 6 and joining the dots to end up at the London O2 Arena on December 14, Madness are set to cause havoc across the UK with one of their most spectacular shows to date.

From the supreme Ska stylings of early hits The Prince and One Step Beyond to pop gems On The Wings Of A Dove and Our House Madness were the most successful chart band of the 80s, notching up a stunning 214 weeks on the singles chart.

The UK tour will see them launch a new era of Madness and put them back on centre stage.

The 7 hot-ticket shows will feature the full strength line up of Suggs, Chas Smash, Chrissy Boy, El Thommo, Woody, Barso and Bedders.

Whilst ardent fans can expect to hear the treasured hits of yesteryear and tracks from their acclaimed Dangermen Sessions they can also look forward to a taste of the band’s highly anticipated new material from forthcoming studio album LUCKY7 (working title), due for release early next year.

The Madness 2007 Tour Dates are (all December):

6 – Aberdeen Press and Journal Arena
7 – Belfast Odyssey
8 – Liverpool Aintree Pavilion
10 – Cardiff International Arena
11 – Plymouth Pavilions
12 – Birmingham NEC
14 – London 02 Arena

Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 7, at 9am.
