Manic Street Preachers announce remix album and taster EP

Manic Street Preachers, Journal For Plague Lovers

FOLLOWING on from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Mogwai, Stereolab and Massive Attack, the Manic Street Preachers have announced a remix album of every single track on their latest offerig, Journal For Plague Lovers.

The band have given free-reign to a diverse, hand-picked selection of studio hands, with the results ranging from a Public Image meets Charlie Watts cosmic disco stomp to a galloping Joe Meek goes shoegaze homage.

The stellar cast of Journal For Plague Lovers remixers is:

Of the remixes, Nicky Wire says: “It’s been a pretty overwhelming response to be honest. We chose people for each track hoping they would bring us back something unique, that they’d find something we maybe hadn’t in the track.

“Without fail, they’ve done that. Heartfelt thanks from us to everyone involved.”

The remixes will be made available as one collection in the near future, but as a taster beforehand a remix EP will be made available for download from next Monday, 15.

Prior to that the remix EP will be exclusively streamed from today (Wednesday, June 10), over on Spotify.
