Meltdown 2009: Ornette Coleman announces first acts

ORNETTE Coleman has announced the first acts of Meltdown 2009. They include hip-hop supremos The Roots and dance act Moby (pictured).

The 16th Meltdown festival takes place, once again, at London’s Southbank Centre from June 9 to June 21 and Coleman’s line-up as artistic director promises to be as eclectic and popular as ever.

The artist will also be performing on an evening called Reflections of This is Our Music with the Master Musicians of Jajouka.
