Mencap Little Noise Sessions 2010: The Kooks and Ellie Goulding join bill

MENCAP’S Little Noise Sessions have announced two more nights to this year’s eclectic line up – indie icons The Kooks (pictured) plus special guests and singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding plus special guests.

They join Tom Jones, Paolo Nutini and Hurts for the fifth birthday celebrations.

Islington’s Union Chapel plays host to the annual series of intimate acoustic gigs, curated by Jo Whiley, taking place between November 15 and 20.

All proceeds from the gigs go to learning disability charity Mencap and to be in with a chance to get your hands on tickets ahead of general release on Friday, October 22 subscribe now at www.littlenoisesessions.org.uk – but be quick, tickets are selling like hotcakes – Tom Jones & Paolo Nutini have already sold out!

Subscribers will also be able to pick the best pew in the Chapel with priority entry to the gigs.

The Kooks have been lined up to play on Thursday, November 18 and will be joined on the night by man of the moment Example, New York rockers We Are Scientists, John Bramwell of the Mercury prize nominated I Am Kloot, and rising star Leah Mason.

And closing this year’s Little Noise Sessions on Saturday, November 20 is golden girl Ellie Goulding, plus special guests Stornoway and the signature vocal of Tinashé – the perfect way to end the Sessions.

Luke Pritchard, from The Kooks, commented: “We are really honoured to be asked back again as last time we played we really enjoyed the show. We love this venue as it has a special sense of occasion to it.

“It has also been a long time since we played London and it’s great to be coming back and doing something different and will be a cool place for us to play some of our new songs. Look forward to seeing you all in November.”
