MIA announces Brixton Academy gig (2010)

MIA will be performing her unique live show at two new live dates announced for November.

The Sri Lankan born, London-based singer, who specialises in a unique blend of hip-hop, pop, grime, ragga and electronic music, will play London’s Brixton Academy on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, as well as The Warehouse Project & Annie Mac Presents in Manchester on Saturday, November 13.

Tickets for the latter gig are available now, but London’s date goes on sale on Friday, August 20 at 9am.

MIA’s latest album Maya is a typically diverse collection of music, taking in influences from punk, electro, hip-hop, dancehall and noisy experimentation.

She has collaborated with the likes of Jay-Z, Diplo, Switch and Rusko, and runs her own record label N.E.E.T. with acts such as Rye Rye and Sleigh Bells.
