Michael Jackson denies Jackson 5 reunion

Michael Jackson, King of Pop

Story by Jack Foley

JUST one day after it was announced by Jermaine Jackson that the Jackson 5 would reunite for a new tour and album in 2009, brother Michael has denied that it is taking place!

In a statement issued in light of his brother’s comments, 50-year-old Michael declared that he had “no plans to record or tour” with his siblings.

Rumours of a reunion have been circulating for years, with Jermaine going on the record in 2003 and again last year, and thereby sparking hopes of a long-awaited reunion.

He even went as far as to say that the tour would be a family affair, with sister Janet also providing the opening act.

But Michael moved quickly to end speculation surrounding Jermaine’s comments, saying in a statement: “My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them.

“I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon.”

A reunion tour would have marked the first time the original members had performed together since a 2001 concert to celebrate Michael’s 30 years in music.
